Volunteer Work
La Canada Rose Float
Working in construction, cleanup, decoration and all jobs that come my way!
The La Canada Rose Float is a staple of the community, seen on a national stage in the Rose Parade in Pasadena each and every year. Being one of the few remaining purely community built, operated and funded floats, it requires dedicated volunteers to help on every task building up the float. I am one of those dedicated volunteers. I have put over 300 hours of work into the La Canada Rose Float throughout both middle school and high school. I have learned skills with using power tools including welding. I have assembled and disassembled a multitude of components from the float, from the "La Canada Flintridge" sign to the track system, to the epoxy on the foam figures of the float to the basic framework of the float's foundation. I have received several honors recognizing my work as a part of the float construction team and is only given out to those who put significant work into building the float.
